**YOU ARE NOW ENTERING SPOILERTOWN**
Plot: Silva, a betrayed former 00, seeks revenge on M by dismantling MI6 and coming for her.
Foiled by: Bond tracks him down, brings him in, tracks him down again, then lures him to Skyfall, his childhood home, which he rigs Home Alone style for a satisfying climax.
Intriguing Setting(s): London | Scotland | Turkey | Macau
Bond: Daniel Craig
Villain(s): Silva
Bond Girl(s):
- Severine – though she dies early and leaves the film ostensibly without a “main” Bond Girl
- Eve Moneypenny – while totally implied that she and Bond get busy, it’s left vague enough to maintain the continuity that Moneypenny is off limits seduction wise.
HL’s Hot Take: I would be hard pressed to argue this isn’t the best Bond overall, but I’m committed to License to Kill as my personal fav. I think Skyfall is by far the best direction and cinematography in the series and manages to transition old characters with new faces in a way that is smooth and palatable for old school fans. All around a huge win.
