**YOU ARE NOW ENTERING SPOILERTOWN**
Plot: Greene is choking off the water to Bolivia so he can insert a dictator as ruler and then own the utilities rights.
Foiled by: Bond, while also on a rage revenge quest for Vesper’s death, discovers the deal, gets the details from Greene and leaves him in the desert to die.
Intriguing Setting(s): Lake Como | Haiti | Bolivia
Bond: Daniel Craig
Villain(s): Dominic Greene
Bond Girl(s):
- Camille Montes – despite being the lead female, she never sleeps with Bond
- Strawberry Fields – Fields’ role in the movie is preposterous. It’s as if they said, ‘Oh shit, he needs to bone someone and we forgot to put that in there! Make the agent sent to retrieve him a cute redhead from the office! But make sure to kill her off IMMEDIATELY.’
HL’s Hot Take: Sadly, it reverts to tragically unrealistic stunts and bad plot twists. M’s personal bodyguard of 5 years is a double agent? A hotel made of fuel cells? Weaving revenge stories together when they have nothing to do with the other? Disappointing follow up to a promising reboot.
Head Librarian Rank: 13/24

TRIVIA SECTION!
Odds & Ends: Part of the issue with the film’s lack of cohesiveness is that the Hollywood writer’s strike took place right as they were about to make the movie. A lot of it was re-written (or written for the first time) but the actors and crew on hand and it reverted to being more of a sequel to Casino Royale than was fully intended.
6 Degrees Cameos: David Harbour is the goofy CIA agent. 6 Degrees is all about ensemble links, so go with Suicide Squad.
Gadgets: none
Cars: Aston Martin DBS V12
Awards: BAFTA nods for Special Effects & Sound
Release Order: 22/25 (2008)
